Overview
The Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification Exam is conducted by Tableau in partnership with Pearson VUE, one of the largest test-taking organizations today. This certification exam can be taken either at a testing center or online based on your convenience. The Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification Exam is a proctored exam without access to the internet. Only during the hands-on section of the Exam candidates are provided access to the PDF version of the Tableau Help Guide. Candidates will also not have access to the Tableau softwares during the knowledge-based sections of the exam which earlier was available in the Certified Associate exam.

Scheduling the Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification Exam
Visit the Tableau Pearson VUE portal and choose the Data Analyst Certification. Choose a date and time and pay with a Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Visa debit or credit card. You can visit a testing center to take the Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification Exam or take it remotely from your home with the help of OnVUE, Pearson VUE’s proctoring software. To reschedule your exam, you need to notify and talk with Pearson VUE atleast 24 hours before exam, otherwise they will forfeit the entire exam fee. Likewise, if you do not show o during the exam, the entire fee is forfeited. So it is best to plan atleast a week ahead in advance if you are confident to attend the test on the day of the exam instead of waiting till the end.
Rules of the Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification Exam
The Tableau Certified Data Analyst Certification Exam comes with a set of rules that will feel different from candidates of the now retired Certified Associate Certification Exam. Some rule changes with respect to access to the internet, and navigating between the sections, seems helpful in better assessing a candidate helping verify if they genuinely know Tableau.
- A candidate is forbidden from accessing public online resources from the Internet during the entire duration of the exam. The PDF version of the Tableau Help Guide is however allowed in the hands-on lab section.
- A candidate must store their personal items away from the testing space for the entire duration of the exam. During checkin, the phone may be used, but must be placed at arm’s reach later prior to starting the exam. Pearson VUE might contact via phone in case of difficulties conducting the exam.
- A candidate must stay within the view of the webcam during the entire duration of the exam. Also no one should be able to view the candidate’s computer screen or monitor. The candidate must not wear any earphone.
- A candidate cannot get up during the test or walk around. The candidate will be monitored using both audio and video to ensure the highest standards of security during the entire exam.
